dporto is on a distinguished road
Hmmm busted nuts! I think PB Blaster is your friend... No guarantees, but it's worth a try - spray 'em up good and let em sit overnight...Even if you get them loose you'd probably want to replace anyway. I can't believe how well that muffler cleaned up - that's pretty amazing really looks great - how do you plan to keep them like that?

PB blaster has been tried many times on these header and exhaust bolts before without success. If the car has corrosion from any salted snow areas, expect to cuss and get new bolts.

Silverfizz, why change aftermarket mufflers with another set of aftermarket mufflers? Did you not like the sound?

Thankyou for the tip! I used som kind of rustremover and let it sit over night but bults still broke, guess it where there time

Well, the owners Before me drove the car in rain and I Think also one winterseason. I only use the car when its dry outside and never in the wintertime, guess I am kind of sick there, so hopefully its not as hard next Winter to Clean it!

Alpine, I didnt change the mufflers I just cleaned them The cats where stock so I figure 200 cells cats would be better, since I have all the other bolt on upgrades I could find!

Damn, you did a great job. I thought they were new.

As for future rusted bolts removal, you may want to try a home brew solution which has been tested to be the best. 50% Acetone/50% ATF.

Here's the breakdown of a test that's been done. The number represent ft/lbs of torque to remove rusted nut.

WD40 - 238
PB Blaster - 214
Liquid Wrench - 127
Kano Kroil - 106
ATF/Acetone mix - 53

You can actually spray the home brew stuff as well but for majority of the jobs, You can't go wrong with Kroil.

Reason why I even mentioned as an alternative is to the non-US folks where Kroil might be harder to get.

Thx for the tips and comments!

Today I did a lot of things! I picked up my new coolant ducts - not a huge diffrence but I´l Think they do the trick!

I also changed my waterpump and thermostat - I am just saying OMG !!!!

It was not as easy as I thought it would be after Reading all those DIY out there. The hoses where allmost impossible to remove. And bult nr 7 on the pump took me 2 hours to remove and get back, sigh!!!!

I also removed all of my coolant (used a great DIY on rennlist), but since the change of the pump and thermostat took so long, I didnt have the time to refill the system. So this will have to be done next weekend.

I also relalized a weird thing with my new cargraphic x-pipecat, the pipes are diffrent? One is straight and one is bend, almost feels like its not supoose to be like that? Anyone have any idea

Ohh, and the best thing this weekend, I picked up some great OEM GT3 bucket seats And yes I know they dont have the logo, but they are oem, (got the porschesticker and harnessclips under, they just got there bad leather changed to black alcantara) Cant wait to install them!!!

Ok, after some 6 hours in the garage I made som progress.

Today I refilled the coolantsystem, got almost 20 L in so there might be some air left - I will have to deal with that in the spring since I cant start her up now.

I also removed my stock seats, WOW!! they where Heavy, I almost didnt get them out! I wasnt sure if I could use my old sliders but it turned out it worked out fine, was allthough not so easy to remove them from the stock seats.

Since she is on a serious diet I also removed the cd-changer in the trunk and replaced it with an Iphonecable

I also got an new oilfilter, ohh, I mean speaker for the garage

Labor of love. Perhaps you can seal those in VHT caliper clearcoat so your work lasts?

Nice job. I love your interior.

Tell me more about your oil filter. That looks interesting.

The Oilfilter-radio is actually an oempart from Volkswagen - I can give you the partnumber if you like!?

Ok so I made some progress, the cargraphic x-pipe 200 cell racecat are now in Place, and so are the new GT3-seats! I also got the upper seatbelt runthroughthing painted the same colour as the car

What do you Think?
(Sorry for quality of the pics, batteri where out of order on normal camera)
