1100hp setup , need ur help guys
#16
Thank you guys , I have small question , If I build 3.6L and twin 6466 or 3586 turbos Im just wondering when would it spool ? i know we made over 1400whp 6466 on GTRs and im sure it will make 1200whp easily on 997 but do i need to sleev the motor if I stay on 3.6 ?
The goal is 1000-1100whp reliable car and fast on the street

With these turbos on a 3.6L where 1.8L is spooling up each turbo expect it to be lazy. Given you're looking for "fast on the street" both of those turbos would be a huge step backwards IMHO and I wouldn't recommend either of them. Car would feel dead on the street and you'd kill all the fun in it and you'd very quickly be downsizing on the turbo. A 3076 setup would be as high as you'd want to go for a 3.6L on the street. Relatively speaking a 3586 would behave like a 3076 on a 3.8L spool wise and the 6466 would behave in a similar way on a 4.0+L build provided same octane/compression used. On the same motor/octane/gear you'll see about a 4-500rpm penalty in spoolup among these three turbos.

It'll depend on the size of your turbine housings but generally speaking 6466 being the bigger of the two will take longer to spool given same octane/displacement/compression. 3586 is a Forced Performance HTA setup. We use it on the BMW N54 and it spools to 20psig in mid 3k RPM range but that is a 3L inline 6 spooling it up and it works really well there for a street setup.

It can, but you know how it usually goes with while you're in there For your goals I'd probably go with a 3.8 sleeved and FP HTA 3586 turbos since you mentioned them and get the heads done for higher flow and RPM.

Stay local because at that hp level you will need support and maintenance that's way you have one contact reasonable for the build.

Might look into the FP/Xona turbos for this project. Something along the lines of a Xona6564 in the Tial Alpha turbine housing would be fantastic.

If your talking about Alpah direct replacement please remember that a true external wg hta 3586 will flow a lot more then whatever you throw in an alpha. Unless the really changed it up on the hot side. Been there done that many moons ago speaking from experience.

Hello gentleman
Personally, the best in the business is Todd ( protomotive) that's being said , I haven't worked with him ( unfortunately). Locally we have protomotivekuwait ( outstanding) . But since you started with Yousif ( great guy ) and emre . You should stick with them all the way from tuning to eng build . They know what are they doing and don't ask others so you don't get confused ( been there ) .
After it's all done you will enjoy it .
Cheers
