Ahoy Gents! First post / build share!
I wanted to take the time introduce myself and share the build being done by the good folks over at EVOMS. They (mostly Sam Stone) have put up with a positively obnoxious need of mine for the past 3 months: I must know every possible part available and every variable that could happen. Most of my "if this, then what??" "ok so that, what about this???" happened at annoying off the clock times as I have been overseas for the duration of the build. Sam and the other EVO guys have provided great, in depth, and patient support through all of this. They listened to what my goals were and never tried to push me to buy more and even talked me out of some things. That said, I sure gave myself enough rope!
I've had my 997.1 for 4 years now and love it. I've had a solid stable of cars over the years and have considered the 991tt or something more exotic but this is where my heart is.
I've always been a bit nervous about modifying the engine to load on more power. I've built 8 of cars in the past and its been a hit or miss experience and always a costly one. I've also known people who have had poor luck, accidents/injuries or a car that is a maintenance disaster. After doing careful research and lurking the forums for a long time I decided to pull the trigger and go all in. I will post pics as I get them. The build is reaching the end with a target completion date of July 20th.
The goal:
Make a high power, streetable, track ready beast by means of the EVT775 kit, boosting displacement from 3.6L to a 3.8L, upgrading brakes front/rear, and a complete suspension overhaul. We hope to make closer to 800hp with the added displacement and we hope to keep it on the pavement!

Nice options. Have you tracked the car prior to your analysis?
I tracked my car at its stock state and progressively changed things while, monitoring its behavior with my reactions.
Question: Do you build the ultimate beast or, the car your fastest in?
Put me in the fastest car at the track and you will see one of the slowest times. Put me in a car I know, I run a good time.
Gretchen looks great! Look forward to seeing the photos and reading your blueprint develop. Lot of changes coming her way!

Sadly the car is becoming a garage queen. I was living in LA so I kept it stock since I was driving it a few times a week and stock is easier to keep up. Now I'm in NYC 90% of the time and the car is being relocated to Utah and will probably only see 1-1.5k miles/year going forward. I do plan to take it out at Miller in SLC. Not sure if any of these guys are out that way or not....
Not seriously. It's more of a passion project.

Nice, Plan on attending the Miller PCA event Sept. 19th. You going to be there?

Ideally this is how it would have been done. I was in LA most of the time and drove the car a couple times a week but I'm in NYC now and the car is moving to Utah. It wont be driven much going forward. As far as I could tell having EVOMS do the work was the best option as I don't have any Porsche shops near me in UT and since I'll only get a few days behind the wheel a year I just wanted to do the complete package....Shipping back and forth from Utah to AZ and building over time just didn't make sense to me especially given how often I plan to drive it. It's a fun car that I may track if the timing works out.... fingers crossed it does!

+1 interested in this one as I'm trying to decide between the Mahle drop ins and CP + Darton/LA/Capricon. You would think the iron sleeves would be more durable than steel.
I went with what EVO recommended, I'll pass the question along and report back.
