ERP had to overnight me a few suspension pieces so the car got done yesterday. alignment is out of whack so i didn't take it out on the street. i did start it to feel the clutch. with the hydraulic assist still in place the pedal feel is literally same as stock and Sachs 2.5. the clutch was quiet and i rolled it back and forth just to feel it. car drives off smooth at as low as idle without using the gas in 1st and reverse. pedal still grabs high like the previous versions but i do have a clutch pedal stop in there so it feels normal.

Sounds great so far! Let us know when you get a chance to drive it a bit. I have to do something with my current clutch, if the new model is as good as you say, it might be worth seeing if I can have mine updated.

It has 1/2" engagement window, chatters and shakes, then comes on instantly and tries to stall the car. I have to rev to about 2500 rpm and let the clutch out over 3-4 seconds or the car won't go. Once I'm moving its a really nice clutch but the start has made it the worst clutch I've ever owned. I've been avoiding pulling it out until I had to take the car apart again, but that time is in the next few weeks. It seems like some of the ERPs were perfect and some are completely unusable. I would like to have a perfect one

wow that has none of the characteristics of the one i have. mine came out of layinbacks car. he had some issues in the beginning but it was replaced and in the end it was the transmission that had the issues not the clutch. once it was fixed the clutch is a dream. easy engagement some chatter at idle at a light but much less than the carbonetics i had in before. very manageable zero shake. engagement height is typical for i have experienced for a triple disk cage style clutch. unless i manage to break this unit i don't see myself getting anything else

i had an opportunity to be in seans 1000 hp 996 turbo with a twin disk tilton. the first few months he had it he beat on it hard. throwout bearing destroyed itself. he got a replacement and it has held up quite nicely. not a bad price at all and eliminates the porsche slave altogether. if i didn't already have a monster erp clutch i would look hard at a tilton. i always thought they were like 6k$ but his was only 2500$ or so

I'm about to pick up the ERP clutch for mine here pretty soon. How does one identify what version it is, and torque capacity?

Dan

New version has 9 fingers on the floaters. Older version can be upgraded to this one but not free.

What's the reasoning behind more fingers on the pressure plate? To me more fingers would just mean more chance of fatigue to a surface with less area.

they are not on the pressure plate. they are on the floaters. floaters sit between the actual clutches and have the same surface material as the clutches.

Would like some feedback on all the drive line components - I am going to be in the same boat and would like to be comfortable launching the car without destroying things.

No worries about trans gears?
