Fellow 6 speeders - The support I get from my factory '06 Audi A4 Avant seats hurts my back on trips longer than 35 miles. No matter what I do, I can never get comfortable. Some days I start thinking - perhaps I should bag my Audi and Turbo and get a Cayenne Turbo S .. then reality snaps in and I tell myself I will never be satisfied .. tried that once with an BMW X5 4.8 is and a BMW M5.

So do I have any good options that are not too rice? I love the adaptive seats in my Turbo (back never hurts) and the wife drives the DD about 1x/week.

I know what you mean with B7 A4 seats, they're not the best seats. Those Recaro CS are super nice but is more like 997GT2 seats, build for street + track day use. For confortable seats, OEM RS4 or S4 recaro are nice choice. Try the seat in S6 and S5, are much comfortable than S4 seats. You can also look into Recaro sport topline too, lots of options and you can add heated seat which is usful for Boston.

 

I have a set of used B7 RS4 seats I would be willing to sell. They have less than 500 miles of usage. Let me know if you are interested I will get pictures for you.

I run Recaro Sport topline seats in my B5 A4. They are SUPER comfortable. They're also electric, heated, cooled and have lumbar system. When I got them, they had leather sides and black suede centers. Later I added the diamond stitching.
