Is this a problem/issue with just the TT or is the S the same?

As far as I know, it's not a problem...it's normal for the Cayenne to burn oil fast and a lot of it and yes, the S burns oil as well.

My Audi Allroad 2.7TT engine drank a quart every 850 miles. Dealer also said it was to be expected, with such hot running motor with a massive sump.

This must only be an issue with the TT, my CS doesnt burn oil but had to add maybe a quart every 1000 miles, but that was before I got new drain plugs.

I bet most of the oil loseage happens in the turbos. Slowly getting thrown down the tail pipe/burnoff.

My 09 S uses no measurable oil and I have never ever added any between changes. (60,000km now).
I always felt the acceptable consumption in the manual is a complete cop out...

I think that for all the Turbos to be consuming that much, there must be some inherent flaw somewhere...perhaps a PCV type issue, or faulty turbo bearings...I don't know. But to deem it 'normal' makes no sense to me

I can't speak for the turbo but my S doesn't get any oil between changes. I had an '04 before - no oil usage. I change evey 2,000-3,000 miles or every 6 months. I've never had to add oil in any of my 5 P's.

This is more what I've been told for years.

no experience with my GTS yet but

with Mobil 1 at $24 for 5 qts at Wal-Mart and a big sump with oil level warning light, oil consumption is really kind of trivial, as long as you can top it off regularly. BTW, my local euroshop who claims to be cheaper than the local dealer gets $11.97+ tax per qt (times 9, plus labor for the oil change). That seemed a little excessive.

My '09 CTTS uses about 1 Qt. every 1.5k miles (has 30k miles on it).
My '08 CS uses about 1 Qt. every 10k miles (has 60k on it).

My former '05 CS used about 1 Qt. every 5k miles (had 165k on it when traded for the '08)

for those who want to reduce oil consumption,

You can always move to a higher viscosity, especially if you live in a warmer area. You can find factory recommended viscosities in your owners manual. It is probably not advisable in Minnesota in the winter, but certainly wouldn't hurt if you live in the So., SE, or SW.

Oil usage without any info on the oil type and driving habits is utterly worthless.

true but mileage, climate and viscosity

selected are always big factors too.

For further clarification on my previous post....I use the factory recommended Mobile 1 oil, live in South Florida & I always..."drive like I stole it".
My CTTS is modified with a Softronic tune, intake & exhaust improvements & makes approx. 650hp. The CS is modified as well & makes about 450hp.

According to everything I have read, my oil consumption mileage numbers stated are expected usage. I have had no reliability issues associated with the lubrication system.
