Speciale Frustration --> GT3RS help needed
Hey guys. I've come looking for a little input from some of you 991 GT3RS owners or anyone else who cares to chime in.
I'm currently waiting to get delivered one of the last speciales from Ferrari. It was a show car that was sent to EU dealers back when the car was released.
My issue right now is that it was expected to me in May, June, July and now September. I'm getting tired of waiting so as any good gear head my mind has started wandering....
Right now I can get my hands on several 991 GT3RS right around new price with anywhere from 500-2500 km on the clock.
How many of you have compared the speciale to the RS? The speciale is a car I have plenty of seat time and while not the fastest car on the market today, it's one of the most fun to drive. Feedback, excitement and response are all right there.
I honest have never even driven in a Porsche which is surprising but just the fact of the matter.
How does the RS feel? Turn in, feedback on the limit, brake feedback, bite etc.
I imagine I would go for a steel brake car and install a complete movit ceramic set up with calipers so the brakes would obviously change up a bit from stock.
The Positives for the speciale are the obvious excitement that the car delivers. A car that suits my driving style, a decent tone from the engine, a set up I enjoy and a look that I do love.
The positives for the GT3RS I suspect will be a quick and possibly quicker car around the circuit, decent sound, potentially better turn in and bite and most importantly a very easy car to maintain.
Both cars are a bit lower power than I thought I'd be buying at the moment but I think their composure outside of pure acceleration more than makes up for this.
Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated and eagerly awaited!!!

Not from personally experience but a good friend is a Porsche fanatic. Older air cooled, 997 RS 4.0, GT4, 991 GT3RS. He also has a few other cars; new M2, and his 458. I have asked him that same question. His answer is, if no track duty then he would do the F 10 times over for all the things you described about the car. If he was using his cars on the track then no.

Then there is no debate. Get the GT3RS, pronto.

May be what I'll have to do. Does anyone feel that the power to weight in the RS could be a bit better? For the ring 500 hp will certainly get you around the track but is much less than I'd like. Seems the car is very well balanced however with its overall set up.

I can give a limited, toned down opinion. I've lapped dozens of cars at WAJ journalist events. I did a session of Exotics Racing in Las Vegas.
A GT3, Huracan and 458. The GT3 felt the most like a street car of the 3 and was great. The myself, wife and a friend said the 458 was perfect.
