I hope MB can.

The 34,8 sec time is from AutoBild, all others from AMS in different tests.

I've included all times I've found and I think it's interesting to see the variance different magazines sometimes gets.
Is it because it's too warm, the car is not 100% etc.? Or did the supplier tamper with the car to make it faster than the one you can buy?
Clearly the 30,6 sec time stands out, can it be repeated in a customer car or are they in fact marketing a 30 sec car and selling 35 sec cars?
The difference is huge!

I haven't seen the video yet, but at Gustav's recent event (www.gtboard.com) there was a Carrera GT and a MB SLR McLaren.
Now from the list above you would think the SLR is faster, but the CGT won in real life.
If the SLR in fact was a 30,6 second car I think the outcome would have been different...

Have a look at the two Corvette Z06 as well...

Thumbs up 0-300 kph !!!! the real demonstrator of power!

Lovely list, I plan to be on it within a month...

In Excellence magazine there is a fascinating article about the Sportec
SPR1 that is going to go for the 400 KPH record. It says that last fall prior
to some mechanical problems, it ran a 0-186mph in 18.9 SECONDS !!!!!
This puts it at #2 on the list! This car is going to show people a thing or
two this summer when it returns to Nardo. According to Sportec this time
was "accredited" by Nardo officials. I also want to see Divexxtreme's, Markski's, JoeTwint's and the new RUF on this list!

The SPR1 is nice but I don't want to include it yet.
http://www.einszweidrei.de/porsche/s...spr12006-1.htm
Says "ohne Gewähr" which means the magazine won't vouch for the figures.

Erik,

You can add the:

Gemballa GTR 750 tested by Sport Auto in 2002: 21.7 seconds despite huge rear wing.
9 FF Coupe 780 PS in AMS 2006: 21.2 seconds

Gotta admit that doing 0-300kmh max acceleration is quite hard, but as Erik knows..there are still many places for that (the silent north Germany is a good for example)

Guys, remember that in many cases the test conditions have varied between the cars so they aren't that comparable... but these numbers still can give you some useful information! Would love to see a monster EVOMS car doing this!

Some more to add to the first post:

996 GT2 with RS-Tuning 542 hp 28.5 secs (Sport Auto 8/2002)
996 GT2 with Techart GT Street S 646 hp 32.3 secs (AMS 24/2003)

(great stuff...RS-Tuning is a favorite for many (but i'm still happy driver with Techart engine mods))

Same car has done also some other impressive times as you sure know! And it all happened back in 2002! And when you remember the GTR600 record run with a 7.32 lap time at the Ring...some would find it a bit funny that people dislike Gemballa so much.

I didn't realize the 599 had a detuned Enzo engine. I thought they were both the same.

I suppose 996tt and the x50 took too long to be on the list. Do we have any numbers for these?

LOL..you might want to read the list again. There are numerous cars on that list that are slower than a stock 996TT.

There just aren't many cars that are tested to 300 kph.

"retuned" is the PC term. Broader torque curve at the expense of peak horsepower.

As for our 9-second cars, if they can get to 150mph after 10 seconds, I don't see why an additional 36 mph would take too much longer...

Using AMS's time of 16.8 seconds for the Veyron http://www.einszweidrei.de/bugatti/veyron1642005-1.htm , I'm confident I could hit 300 km/h in app. 15 seconds in my car.

Hopefully I'll be able to try one of these days.
