McLaren Drops the Mic with the 675LT Spider
McLaren Automotive has become an absolute powerhouse among the supercar world. In the short time that the company has been in operation, it’s released a number of supercars that are the envy of the rest of the pack. Ferrari and Lamborghini literally can’t touch the amount of engineering that goes into these cars.
Yet the company isn’t stopping anytime soon. Recently, McLaren launched the 675LT and the 570S. To compliment those, the company is now launching the 675LT Spider for those that want a more raw and visceral experience that leaves them open to the elements.
The 675LT Spider uses the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 found in the 675LT, and makes 666 horsepower. However, McLaren has gone in and reworked the 675LT Spider to be lighter than its hardtop sister. Shedding 220 pounds, the McLaren 675LT Spider now weighs just 2,800 lbs making for an exhilarating experience to say the least.
The new supercar will cost $372,600 to start, and obviously with all the options, will definitely exceed over $400,000. But honestly, who cares at that point. If you have enough for the car, you have enough for the options. What’s the verdict on this car? Are supercars better without roofs?
