Acura Finally Debuts NSX in Detroit
The NSX, it’s the supercar that beat Ferrari. It’s part of Ayrton Senna’s legacy. It’s almost perfect. Now, we finally have the new NSX, and after almost a full decade of being in development, it looks to be absolutely stunning.
The new NSX debuted this week at the Detroit Auto Show. It uses carbon fiber and aluminum to make the car light and rigid, and a twin turbo hybrid electric V6 that pumps out over 550 horsepower.
The hybrid system includes three separate electric motors. Two motors sending power to the front wheels, and one filling in the torque when the turbos are spooling up. This is a very similar system to the one found in the McLaren P1.
While this new NSX isn’t the lightweight, analog racer its predecessor was, it’s sure to be a screaming load of fun when it finally goes on sale later this year.
