It seems that Nissan/Infiniti can’t keep its executives worth to save their lives. After only a few weeks after the head of Infiniti quit, Nissan’s Andy Palmer quit to become the CEO of Aston Martin.

The company has always struggled with financial losses, and stagnate lineup and other internal issues. They hope that Palmer will be able to turn the company around before they get into another situation in where they need to be bought out by a larger manufacturer, like what happened with Ford.

Palmer was instrumental in the push for the all electric Leaf, and was part of the program that got the GTR to the States after so many pushes to finally come around. Aston Martin’s statement says that it hopes Palmer can revamp the company to make it fully compete at a world scale.

With the addition of Palmer, and Daimler-Mercedes investing heavily into the company, will be interesting to see where those influence can push Aston Martin next. With the unveiling of its brand new limited edition Lagonda, the trade marking a total of five more DB names, bringing in Palmer and Mercedes, Aston Martin is definitely trying to ensure it has a future.
