Aston Martin’s current design language has been with the company since it was still owned by Ford almost a decade ago. Not that the Aston Martin design architecture is offensive to look at, it’s still absolutely sultry, but the cars are a bit dated.

Now the British marquee is planning its biggest “product offensive” ever in its history. The company isn’t just re-shelling its cars with new bodies either. Rather each model will receive brand new underlying architecture, engine layout, and interiors over the next several years all beginning with Aston’s bestselling car, the Vantage.

Our spy photographers captured what appears to be the first test mules in this new age of Aston Martin running around the Nürburgring. While the body remains clad in the Vantage V12 body, certain holes and bulges belie something new under the old exterior.

The car definitely looks like it has a wider track, and it appears to potentially have the new AMG heart peeking through the mesh grille.

According to our sources, Aston will likely display this new design language later next year with the it being available to purchase at the beginning of 2017. Expect to see many more spy shots coming soon, as well as new-bodied mules running around early next year.
