Since the deal with Mercedes, Aston Martin has been quiet about its plans for the future. The company’s lineup is aging, albeit gracefully, but the underpinnings of the cars are all almost ten years old. And for the longest time, they haven’t spelled out the future of the company.

However, it’s been reported that Aston Martin has filed for the trademarks for DB10-14. This could mean that they are in the process of building a new fleet of vehicles, or at the very least they are going to rename a few things. I’m not saying they should throw away the design language of the company, far from that, but the company does need to come into this new decade.

The company is doing well for the on again off again profitability, and hopefully with this new deal with Mercedes, the company can push the boundaries of amazing GT cars.

In order for Aston to succeed they need to look not only at its heritage, but look towards the future of that heritage. I think this trademark filing could be a good step in that direction. It may not show much, but in my opinion, it shows they are looking towards the future.
