Our friends over at Vivid Racing sent us a note about a little pet project that they had been tinkering on and wanted to share with us. Like many Porsche enthusiasts, Dan at Vivid picked up the LEGO Technic Porsche 991 GT3RS kit to assemble. With 2704 pieces, this is GT3RS is a bigger project than your kid’s typical LEGO set.

As is the way with Technic-branded kits, this GT3RS features many very realistic and detailed touches, including bricks designed to match the multi-piston brake calipers, a bespoke flat-6 engine design, transmission and suspension pieces. All of the technic GT3RS cars are painted with a Lava Orange-like paint scheme, which is quite striking. However, the thing that sets Vivid’s personal kit apart is the custom painted Violet Purple-inspired pieces. As Porsche nerds, we really appreciate this OEM choice for a color change.

A time lapse video below showcases unboxing, and assembling this technic. If you’d like to check out the GT3RS in more detail, Dan provided a write up on Vivid’s website, along with a photo shoot of the finished product, complete with studio lighting.
