Brand New Ferrari F8 Tributo Totaled by Renter

Ferrari F8 Tributo

There is no shortage of ways to get into trouble in Las Vegas. However, destroying a brand-new Ferrari F8 Tributo is probably the least fun.

There are many ways to keep yourself entertained in Las Vegas. It is the perfect city to indulge in some of your wildest fantasies. For many people those fantasies involve renting an exotic car that you may normally never have the chance to drive. It can be a thrilling once in a lifetime experience. However, not all once in a lifetime experiences are good. Cruising down the strip in a new blood red Ferrari F8 Tributo and checking out the sights. That is good. Losing control of a new blood red Ferrari F8 Tributo and smacking into a curb at high speed and wrecking the car. That is not good. Lying about what happened, that is even worse.

Royalty Exotic Cars is the place to go to if while you are in Vegas you want to rent something a little more exciting than the minivan you typically drive. If you want a Lamborghini or Ferrari or McLaren or nearly anything else high end you can rent it here. One gentleman recently decided to rent a Ferrari F8 Tributo.

It was the first time the car was rented and had only about 300 miles on it. Royalty Exotic Cars recently posted a video on their YouTube channel of how that rental ended. To say it did not go well is an understatement.

F8 Wheel

The folks at Royalty Exotic Cars met the renter of the car at the hotel he was staying at. The gentleman requested that he not be filmed. Probably a good idea, as you don’t want to be famous for being the guy that wrecked a brand-new Ferrari that wasn’t even yours. His face was covered to protect his identity and to hide the bruises he got from the airbag going off in his face.

When asked what happened he told a story of a large rock sitting right in the middle of the road. Even at his claimed speed of only 45 mph he said there was no time to avoid hitting the rock and that is what caused the damage. Sounds a bit unlikely, but the crew heads to the scene to pickup the car and try to determine what really happened.

Cracked Frame

Sure enough, at the side of the road is the Ferrari F8 Tributo that has been sitting there since 9 PM the previous night with the hazard lights on. Upon first review it does not look too bad. Both wheels on the drivers’ side are pretty banged up. There are some scrapes on the front splitter and the driver side door airbag deployed.

This is not going to be a cheap fix, but it could have been worse. A closer examination of the accident scene seems to indicate the driver didn’t hit a rock. He appears to have lost control at high speed and slammed into a curb. They load it up on the flatbed to get it back to the shop for a closer look. The closer look reveals some bad news.

With the car up on a lift, and the wheel off we can see the extent of the damage. Fender lining is torn off, the brake caliper is scrapped up, and you can see where the wheel was pushed back into the fender and rubbed. There is also some damage to the underside of the splitter. However, something much more serious is discovered. Turns out the force of the impact was so great that it cracked the frame. Goodnight folks! That will be sending this Ferrari to the graveyard.

Totaled.

The renter is about to have an interesting conversation with his insurance company. You totaled a what?!?!? This is not the kind of Vegas memory you ever want to have.
