Dedicated Men Build Lamborghini out of a Volvo 740

You realize a few things after spending a lot of time on car forums.

  1. Your drop is never too low.
  2. Clean is the most frequently used, and most coveted compliment one can receive.
  3. People legitimately enjoy squishing their cars down to look like cute matchbox racers (no clue why).

Which brings us to today’s story.

I don’t have an inkling of what the automotive enthusiast scene in Kyrgyzstan is like, but if this carbon copy Lamborghini, built on the frame of a thirty year old Volvo is indicative of such, I wouldn’t know whether to be puzzled, or entertained.

The at-home project started life as a Volvo 740. $15,000 later, the small group from the city of Bishkek had their very own Lamborghini Sesto Elemento replica.

The project went from sketches and drawing to reality in three months, complete with specially designed metal, carbon steel, acrylic glass, and a set of BMW X5 wheels.

Pretty impressive actually, besides the fact that it’s not actually a functioning vehicle (not that it’d be road legal). It’s far from clean, but to #3 in my points above, I quite like the cutesy squished looks of it, and have no idea why.
