With new Motul livery, Pfaff will compete in the 2020 IMSA GTD season with Porsche 911 GT3 R leading the charge.

For the most part, the racing season in North America is taking a winter siesta to recharge its batteries for the new year to come. Soon enough, the roar of engines will once again fill our ears, when testing begins for both IMSA and NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, in the run-up to the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and the Daytona 500.

Until then, there’s still news to reveal, such as Toronto, Ontario-based Pfaff Motorsports announcing a multi-year contract with its new major sponsor — and “Official Motor Oil of IMSA” — French lubricant company Motul.

“We are beyond excited to have a new long-term title partner in Motul,” said Pfaff Motorsports team manager, Steve Bortolotti. “We believe in the superiority of their product, which we’ll sell in our dealerships and service customers’ cars with, and we’ll also be using the company’s 300V oil and other performance lubricants and products in our 911 GT3 R.”

That’s not all for the Pfaff Porsche 911 GT3 R, though. When their chariot rolls out of the garage for the first time in 2020, it’ll also wear a plaid, Motul-themed livery harkening back to the company’s historic schemes. And of course, if you’re shopping for a car at any one of Pfaff’s dealerships in the Toronto area, your ride will have Motul oil keeping the power flowing.

“We have founded kindred spirits in the Pfaff team – both in motorsports, and across the dealership network,” said Motul brand manager Nolan Browning. “Like us, they are passionate about cars, motorcycles, and racing, and their brand values align perfectly with our own. We’re really looking forward to deepening our relationship over the next three years, and seeing a lot of success, both on- and off-track.”

The Motul-Pfaff 911 GT3 R will be piloted by returning driver Zacharie Robichon for the entirety of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech GTD season, joining a team featuring Porsche engineer Lars Kern, Porsche factory driver Patrick Pilet, and Porsche Young Professional graduate Dennis Olsen.
