Ferrari 360 Modena Is a 458 Wanna Be

How do you make a “boring” Ferrari 360 less boring? Well, probably not like this.

Among modern-day models, the Ferrari 360 might just be the most hated prancing horse. People decry its boring styling, modest performance, and “mass” production numbers. Plus, when you factor in the typical sky-high cost of maintaining the car, it’s no wonder why this is one of the most affordable Ferraris you can buy on the used car market. Heck, in some cases, for around the cost of a gussied-up, newfangled soccer mom crossover.

Which, of course, has led many to take the plunge and buy this affordable supercar. After all, it’s a Ferrari, for Christ’s sake. So what if visibility sucks, gas mileage is non-existent, and merely basic maintenance costs as much as a week at that nice island hotel. But among the supercar set, owning and driving a Ferrari 360 is still kind of embarrassing. So one guy decided to do something about it.

Thus, this particular 2002 Ferrari 360, which we spotted for sale over at Frank Kent Hyundai (no kidding!) sports a 458-esque body kit. While the Frankenstein-like transformation probably seemed like a good idea at the time, it sure didn’t do much for the resale value. With a relatively low 35k on the odometer, this mishmash of Ferrari history will only cost you a smidgen under 60 grand to take home.

And hey, it doesn’t look terrible, at least. No one is going to mistake it for anything but a Ferrari, which is the whole point of owning a Ferrari. On the flip side, you’re probably even more likely to be laughed out of your local supercar meet. And the fact that the previous owner might have traded it in on a Sonata or Santa Fe probably tells you everything you need to know!
