Pity is an emotion not often expressed towards Ferraris or their owners. Envy and awe, perhaps are generally more suitable. Until now.

Here’s an especially bummer post-wreckage clean up video of supposedly, the first-ever wrecked Ferrari 458 Speciale, which occurred in Berlin, Germany. As you get your first glimpse into the sheer intensity of the wreckage (the 458’s front end is compeltely destroyed), you wonder what sort of loathsome vehicular behemoth could have inflicted that amount of damage.

Video continues on and the culprit for this intense destruction is none other than a large, foreboding Smart for Two. Wait. What? Yes. A Smart, which…

“Is believed to have ran a red light and pulled out onto the speeding 458, resulting in the 458 smashing into the smart.” – via [supercarkids.com]

Even more shocking/impressive/depressing/ridiculous is the fact that the Smart appears to be in rather okay condition, even after reportedly rolling away onto some nearby grass. Talk about a bizarre story. Though no exact details have been disclosed about the story, the two drivers involved were reported to have been taken to the hospital for serious injuries.

Seeing the video and photos definitely gave me a painful searing in my gut. Wishing for the full recovery of all parties involved,
