The sound of a motor is like a classical piece of music to a car enthusiast. Within a space of time, a mechanical cacophony becomes tuned and finessed into notes of power and sheer pleasure.

Today’s symphony comes courtesy of a gaggle of Ferrari FXX race cars. The FXX were a series of consumer race cars that a very select group of Ferrari clientele were allowed to purchase. These are non-street legal Ferraris, kicking out 800 screaming horsepower at 8500RPM, courtesy of a bored out and further built 6.3L version of the Enzo V12 engine. These frenetic screamers have a serious temper, and sound like the meanest motors coming out of Marinello. Sounds like Formula 1 back in the glory days. Bless Ferrari.

Listen and watch the video below when a number of Ferrari FXX are let loose on the track and a master audio capture team sets forth to capture the ravenous snarl, idle purr, and high-pitched screams as these magnificent machines accelerate out on the race track.
