The LaFerrari XX is Getting More Horsepower

By -

003-ferrari-laferrariFerrari is hard at work creating the ultimate track weapon. No, it’s not finally fixing their Formula 1 cars so they are actually competitive. Rather, Ferrari is continuing the new tradition of building the ultimate version of their already ultimate road cars for the XX Corsi Clienti program.

A few years ago, when the Enzo came out, Ferrari built a one-off track only version dubbed the Ferrari Enzo FXX. Essentially, Ferrari stripped out all the unnecessary interior parts, upped the horsepower, and threw some slick tires at it and left it to go racing for only its ultimate fans. And those that could pony up the couple million they cost.

laferrarispin-sliderNow, Ferrari is looking to up the ante once again with the Ferrari LaFerrari XX. The new XX car will come with all the stripped out interior options the last XX model had, but with more horsepower than even god could handle.

Unlike previous rumors that Ferrari would use a version of its Formula 1 turbo V6, the new rumors is that Ferrari will just boost the already insane hybrid V12 to a staggering 1050 hp! For those keeping track, that’s almost double of what Ferrari makes in their purpose-built F1 cars.

However, unlike their F1 cars which can race in an actual series, the LaFerrari XX will be subjugated only to track days and the Corsi Clienti’s eight-race season since it’s not legal, literally, anywhere.

The lack of a legitimate racing series also means we’ll never get to see this thoroughbred face off against its natural enemy—the McLaren P1 GTR. Which is a shame.
