Call It Whatever You Want, but Please Don’t Call It a Wagon. – Porsche

Manufacturers have gotten extra creative the last few years with their chic names for specific body styles. “Don’t you dare call it a hatch, call it a Gran Turismo,” says BMW. Audi says “It’s not a sports sedan or a hatchback, it’s a Sportback.” Lastly, Mercedes and Jaguar adore their “Shooting Brake” monikers.

To make things worse, now Porsche doesn’t want us to call this the Panamera Wagon, the Panamera Shooting Brake, nor the Panamera GT. It’s been baptized as the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Got that?

The wagon of our dreams (yeah, I said it) may not want to be called a wagon, but that’s what it is, and it’s downright stunning. In fact, if Porsche would’ve launched this design as the original Panamera they abso-freaking-lutely would’ve blown sales out of the water. Don’t you agree?

Offering up to 49 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat, the Sport Turismo might as well be everyone’s grocery getter. Speaking of carrying cargo, you can still transport a total of five people and 18.4 cubic feet with the rear seats up, which should be plenty for the average grocery shopping trip, or whatever it is people who buy 550 horsepower turbocharged wagons carry.

The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few days, so stay tuned for more!
