Introducing the RR Racing Supercharger kit, which boosts power output to a serious 620 WHP without the annoying muffling of turbos.

Yes folks, somebody decided to actually do it! We finally get to see what a 991.1 GT3 RS looks like with a big supercharger outfitted out back. It’s even wilder than we ever could have dreamed.

The 4.0L naturally aspirated engine found in the GT3 RS has been recognized as one of the best sounding engines ever made, period. Its vicious snarl near the 9,000 RPM redline still makes us giddy with excitement every time we hear it.

We never though it could get any better, until now. Thanks to the folks at That Racing Channel on YouTube for featuring this amazing Porsche based out of Florida.

The owner of this beautiful Ultra Violet 991.1 is Tommy Kim, owner of TBK Motorsports. With the development car being a regular 3.8-liter GT3, his RS is the first to have received this production supercharger kit in the world.

‘Rather than changing what makes a GT car great, we put it on steroids.’

The kit is manufacturer by RR Racing, a motorsport tuning company based out of Pennsylvania. It features a Procharger P1-X supercharger at its heart, along with many of the accessory upgrades necessary to run the kit properly.

Included also is a baseline tune for both the ECU and the PDK system to adjust to the newly found power and torque. This particular car has also been fitted with several other upgrades to bring everything together.

This means Fabspeed catless headers and valvetronic iPE titanium exhaust to truly gain every possible decibel from this furious high-revving engine. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

While the kit comes with a tune, this specific car was tuned by Steve Pearson at Hydra Motor Works, who also has worked tuning a twin-turbo GT3.

The tune itself is set to be very robust and currently is very conservative at 6 psi only. This allows the 4.0L to scream 200 WHP over the stock power level with 100% 93 pump gas.

While making about 620 WHP, the rest of the car is mostly stock, including the fueling system and transmission. That’s amazing for the output this engine is handling.

Wondering what drove Kim to take a gamble and become the guinea pig for this new $13k boost kit?

Kim states, “I always like doing custom stuff, I don’t like doing just off the shelf stuff. When I had the chance to do the first one, I jumped on it.”

The 9-second 1/4 mile daily driver?

Believe it or not, this is beautiful purple Porsche is his daily. However, that has not prevented him from performance aspirations with the car.

According to Kim, big changes might be in the near future for this build. He states, “once I turn up the boost a little bit more, put her on E85, and get a better rear tire, I’ll probably go out to the track and start doing some testing and try to dial it in.”

The RS was able to run 10.9 at the 1/4 mile when it was naturally aspirated. After these upgrades his goal is to break the 9s, with a target of 9.90.

Still able to swap the the smaller 8 psi pulley, the car has a lot of potential ahead. We are excited to see its progress.

Certainly one of the best sounding engines we have ever heard before any of the upgrades. With the full exhaust and the supercharger kit, this 4.0L flat-six is almost too good to be true.

No turbos to muffle or distort the clean sound of the high revving engine, with the sweet release of boost with every lift of the throttle. Can you ask for much more?
