Listen Up! F80 BMW M3 Clears it’s Throat

BMW M3

Let the deliveries of new F80 BMW M3s begin! As recently as last week I saw BMW road-testing the new M3 (chassis F80) around Los Angeles, but it appears that owners across the Atlantic are starting to take possession. This owner, who lives in Abu Dhabi UAE, got his painted in delicious Alpine White paint. At night, this color should accent creases from the M3’s big fender flares. The interior color is called Sakhir Orangeā€”a bit bright for my eyes, but to each their own.

The owner also has a white E90 M3, and in a side-by-side picture, I contend that the F80 is 100% better looking. I love the slimmer lights, the creases on the hood, and the whole front fascia. This is one car that would not benefit from a body kit.

If you want to see more pictures of it, go to this page on Bimmerforums, because we’re here to talk about sound. The outgoing V8 sounded good, and a set of pipes turned it into a different animal altogether. Now we have an inline-6 turbo, an engine not really known for it’s opera skills. Put a Supra next to an Audi R8 and you’ll see what I mean. It’s hard to make a BMW I6 sound great, but I think BMW did a very good job. It’s a bit like the 1M, with pops breaking up the moan-y wail.
