There’s a long list of desirable vintage BMWs, but the Batmobile certainly stands out above the rest. Quite literally made for racing homologation, the 3.0 CSL was developed for touring car racing to combat the very successful Ford Capri. The CSL ended up having tremendous success in racing, and the road cars earned a place in history.

1265 were built in total, and this one is in excellent condition. Lightest examples like this one are Left-hand-drive, as right-hand-drive exports to the UK had additional sound deadening. The interior is not exactly sparse, though. Scheel bucket seats are a center piece to a very simple but effective interior. A three spoke steering wheel and 5 speed manual transmission are under your control, and under your right foot is that legendary straight six engine. Despite being a “3.0,” the 1974 model year was actually 3,153cc. Bosch injection helps send 200 horsepower to the back wheels.

Don’t let the 92,000 km scare you away from this car. It simply proves that this car is ready to be enjoyed, rather than sitting static in a collection. For a driver’s car, the condition is worthy of winning awards, as evidenced by the $345,000 asking price.
