Magnus Walker Crashes Porsche “277” While Reporter Rides Shotgun

Even really good drivers have accidents. That’s why they’re called accidents. Of course, this really good driver may have been showing off just a little for the reporter riding shotgun. But still, let’s not be too hard on Magnus Walker for this one. He’s probably being hard enough on himself.

Walker was taking Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter, Vineeta Sawkar, for a ride in his classic 911 during a recent Twin Cities Porsche media event. Let’s just say it wasn’t a very smooth ride. Carrying a bit too much speed, Walker came around a curve, only to find a trailer parked in his way and a classic Mercedes in the other lane. With no where to go and not enough time to stop, Walker sandwiched his famous “277” into the back of the truck.

As you can see in the video below… wait, perhaps I should preface this with a warning. If you hate to see a gorgeous car getting crunched, don’t watch the video below. And definitely don’t listen to it. Because the sound of Walker’s favorite car smashing into a truck is far worse than nails on a chalkboard.

Fortunately, both driver and passenger are going to be fine. And judging from how well Walker knows his way around a Porsche, I’m willing to bet his “277” will be just fine too.

Given how the world works these days, it’s probably even safe to say that Walker will gain popularity from this incident. It is captivating video, which will likely find a broad audience, beyond the enthusiast world that already knows his signature scraggly beard and diehard Porsche enthusiasm. And ultimately, isn’t that a good thing?
