Big news from Japanese automaker and its decision to bump the 2015 GT-R’s price up to $103,365 (premium model) and $113,105 for the GT-R Black. The NISMO will follow suit soon, but pricing isn’t available just yet. The outgoing ranges of the Premium, Black, and Track editions for 2014 were $99,590 – $115,710, respectively.

Personally, I’m not quite sure what to think. Gut instinct tells me it’s a huge departure from the GT-R’s introduction as the supercar killer without the supercar price, but it’s also worthy to note Nissan’s halo-racer has also undergone notable and steady upgrades over the years since its 2008 introduction (from 473HP/430TQ to 542HP/463HP in its current form).

So while the pricing bump puts it into supercar territory, let’s also keep in mind the performance definitely matches. The current GT-R in its “base” trim wrecks the 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds and continually outperforms cars costing many times more than itself.

Is the Nissan GT-R still a “bargain?” Let us know what you think!
