McLaren Teases P1 Nürburgring Run with Sweet Video

One look at the McLaren P1 and you know it’s destined for great things; to stand  as an automotive icon for a long time. Photos are one thing, but nothing I’ve seen online evokes this feeling as strongly as McLaren’s official video showcasing the hybrid hypercar’s date with the fabled German racetrack.

More epic than automotive, it’s a beautifully shot montage filled with an ambient orchestral symphony, interspersed with the ultra-violent snarling of the P1’s 903HP power plant.

Video composition follows a similar formula with silent aerial shots of the P1 racing down through twists, bends, and straights coupled with sudden cuts to a first-hand glimpse of what life would be like, strapped to the nose of the  Nürburgring.

McLaren slyly hints at a sub 7 minute time but refuses to give the official time. Rumors are flying around that the P1’s potency is beyond what any of us could have expected, including beating Porsche 918 Spyder’s benchmark 6:57 by almost 30 seconds.

It’s an insane time full of insane hypercars with the La Ferrari, P1, and 918 Spyder in the mix. Excited to see once these three are able to go head to head, toe-to-toe in a comparison test.
