2018 Porsche Panamera is $180k of Awesome (Video)

Doug DeMuro takes a closer look at what may be the most expensive station wagon ever produced.

The full proper name is as follows: 2018 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. That’s almost as bad as the BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe when you’re talking incredibly long names for German super sedans. We ran across Doug DeMuro’s review of the 2018 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo and got to know the ins-and-outs of the wagon.

That also includes a long list of quirks and interesting features not found on the normal Panamera. That’s good because at $180,000 we’d hope the Sport Turismo had a few bells and whistles.

When you take a look at the rear of the Sport Turismo next to a Panamera the difference is striking. The roof doesn’t slope downward as much, and there’s lots more room to store items. During his detailed review of the interior Doug points out that the load floor in the rear is much lower, something any owner would be sure to notice every time they put groceries, or golf bags, in the back. The Sport Turismo also has seating for “five” with a rear bench instead of the 2+2 arrangement in the normal Panamera. That fifth person better be petite though, since Porsche declined to redesign the center console.

Out on the road, the Sport Turismo drives well according to Doug. “It feels like a luxury car that’s also a sports car, that’s also a family station wagon.” Maybe it presents the right combination of things if you only have the space for one vehicle and your children wouldn’t fit in the back of a 911. Who knows, we’re not rich but we’ve got plenty of parking. For $180,000 you imagine someone would be able to afford several cars.

Would you consider the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo over something like the Mercedes-AMG E63 wagon? Hop in the forums and let us know what you think.
