Sometimes the Term “Barn Find” Renders the Best Possible End Result.

The Lamborghini Miura is regarded by many as the best Lamborghini of all time. Period. End of story. Not only because it really started the trend of big, v-12 powered monsters that we all know and love today, but because it was groundbreaking for its time. Because of this decades-long pedigree, a well-sorted example of a Miura can fetch seven figures.

This is the story of one man finding the ultimate barn find–a nearly-untouched, unrestored Miura S that sat peacefully in an Oregon garage for decades. Jeff, the current owner of this absolutely stunning Miura S, was led to the car through pure chance and a small amount of persistence. After following the lead of several random and vague clues about an “orange car” that was “maybe a Lamborghini,” Jeff decided to go to Oregon and inquire about the car himself.

What he found was an elderly many named Earl, who was near the end of his life and had bought the car years ago. After spending time together and getting to know more about each other and the car in question, Jeff ultimately purchased the car after Earl passed away. Since taking ownership, Jeff has slowly gone through the car, fixing necessary blemishes and up-keeping engine maintenance. That said, the car is technically unrestored, and is an award winner because of it.

The best news here is that Jeff loves the Miura just as Earl did and even drives it regularly–despite the fact that it is perhaps worth several million dollars. This is why we like Jeff.
