Porsche Celebrates Rennsport Reunion VI with Exclusive Watch
Available only in the U.S., limited-edition Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI also honors 70 years of Porsche.
Exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design commemorates the sixth Porsche Rennsport Reunion (Sept. 27-30 at Laguna Seca), with the introduction of a limited-edition timepiece: the Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI. The watch, designed exclusively for the event and named the official commemorative timepiece of Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI, is the third edition Rennsport Reunion watch from Porsche Design. According to the company, the two previous editions sold out in record time, making each an instant collector’s item. As a result, the 2018 limited edition timepiece, available only in the United States, is a series of only 70 pieces, correlating with the 70th Anniversary of Porsche Sports Cars.
The Porsche Design Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition watch unites the typical characteristics of the Chronotimer Collection. The Chronotimer is reminiscent of the legendary Chronograph I –– the world’s first all-black chronograph, inspired by the non-reflective matte black instrument panels on the dashboards of Porsche racecars. Featuring Porsche Design’s unique titanium case with black titanium-carbide coating, the Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition timepiece utilizes a matte-black dial to ensure maximum contrast and readability. Accented by red and white markers (reminiscent of a racetrack’s safety sideline) and stop-seconds hand, the dial displays the Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI logo at the “3 o’clock” position. Engraved with the “Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition” logo and limitation number within the series, the sapphire case back allows for an unobstructed view of the chronograph movement, which features the iconic PD-Icon rotor.
The black calf-leather strap, made from original Porsche interior leather and yarn, uses contrasting red stitching and a titanium double-folding clasp with black titanium-carbide coating and an integrated quick-change strap system. Each timepiece comes in a limited-edition collector’s watch box, including a numbered Rennsport Reunion plaque and special booklet telling the unique history of Porsche Rennsport Reunion, Porsche Design, and the official timepiece itself.

Porsche Rennsport Reunion began in 2001 at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. It was last held at the famed Monterey Peninsula racetrack in 2015, drawing nearly 60,000 visitors. Rennsport Reunion is an opportunity for car enthusiasts to gather en masse alongside hundreds of Porsches of all types on display and racing on track. PRR is the world’s largest gathering of vintage and recent Porsche racecars, as well as those who have designed, engineered, and driven them to victory in the world’s most famous sportscar races.
Hosted by Porsche Cars North America, Rennsport Reunion VI is the main North American event celebrating 70 years of Porsche Sports Cars and will again feature the widest variety of historic racing Porsche competition models in the company’s 70-year history. The natural creation of the Porsche Design Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI is the brand’s way of paying homage to the celebrated occasion. Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI takes place September 27-30, 2018 at Laguna Seca. This year will mark the third time the occasion takes place at the Californian facility, with the former occurring in 2011 and 2015.
The Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI Limited Edition watch is available for pre-order here. The unique timepiece retails for $6,850 and will be available at Rennsport Reunion VI in September.
