Ah, the 928. Porsche stopped building that car back in 96. They didn’t go back to building front-engine rear-wheel drive cars until they pushed the Panamera onto the world stage. As well regarded as Porsche front-engine efforts were, it was never really their “thing.” Sure the Panamera’s a success, but for sports cars, rear and middle engine placement is how Porsche does things…. But what if they didn’t?

What if their GT car, the 928, was a rousing success the way the Panamera was? What if Porsche took that design language and immortalized it like they did with the 911? If Porsche’s engineers labored over details and upgrades year over year to make the 928 perfect, the result might look something like this:

Designer Anthony Colard put together this concept as a part of his application to the Porsche, according to Car Buzz. I see a little bit of the 918’s influence in the rear, still, it’s definitely not a copy cat. What do you think? What would it take to get you into a new 928?
