PWC RA 2
The GT, GT-A, and GTS classes descended on Road America in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin over the weekend. There was some great racing as well as some big names returning to competition at Road America. This weekend saw the return of Dyson Racing and Bentley with veteran driver Butch Leitzinger at the helm. The No. 08 Bentley Continental V8 T moved all the way from 19th on the starting grid to 6th in its Pirelli World Challenge series debut then finished 4th in round 8. All in all, it was a very successful debut weekend for Butch Leitzinger and the entire Dyson Racing Team Bentley crew.

Mike Skeen in the No. 2 Hawk Performance/CRP Racing Audi R8 Ultra ruled the weekend by winning both rounds in the GT class. Skeen chased the No. 8 Cadillac of Andy Pilgrim for the first 14 laps of round 7 before passing on the outside of turn 13. That set up a great three way battle for second between Pilgrim, the No. 6 K-Pax Racing McLaren of Robert Thorne and the No. 32 EFFORT Racing Porsche GT3 of Tim Bergmeister. Thorne pulled of a brilliant double pass on the battling Pilgrim and Bergmeister in turn 5 and never looked back. Bergmeister was eventually able to get past Pilgrim for third.

In the GT-A round 8 it was the No. 0 Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 of Marcelo Hahn that led the way to the checkered flag. Henrick Hedman, in the No. 10 Dragon Speed Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 made it home in second, followed by home town driver and double podium finisher, Jeff Courtney in the No. 99 Audi R8 Ultra.

In GTS, Nic Jonsson dominated the weekend in his No. 36 Kia Optima. Jonsson beat teammate Mark Wilkins in the No. 38 Kia Optima and Andy Lee in the No. 20 BestIT Chevy Camaro in round seven.

Jonsson won again in round 8 beating the Ford Mustang Boss 302S’s of No. 60 Jack Roush Jr. and the No. 33 of tony Buffomante. However, it was Wilkins second place finish in round seven that boosted him to within one point of his teammate for the points lead.
