TechArt Porsche 992 Stuns at SEMA

TechArt Porsche 992

At the big show in Sin City, taste and restraint aren’t terribly common. So TechArt brought this lovely Porsche 992.

Right out of the box, the 992 Porsche is a pretty slick ride. The lines of Stuttgart’s iconic sports coupe have been being refined for nearly six decades, and still echo the original’s gorgeous sheetmetal. So if you’re going make changes? You’re going to want to go with bits from a company that has both a proven track record and a sharp eye for design. Obviously, taste is also important, but if you don’t think so, there’s always MANSORY.

That said, the car that German tuning shop TechArt brought to SEMA was a masterclass in how to accessorize the legendary 911 without compromising its overall aesthetic. In a sea of machines which were over-the-top just to be over-the-top, this lovely blue example stood out because it was whispering — not shouting. Everywhere you look, the details sparkle.

Up front, there’s a carbon fiber splitter, which sits under a hood sporting dual air vents. The carbon treatment carries over into the cabin of the drop top, and while the weight savings are likely negligible, it’s tough to argue with just how awesome it looks against the blue interior.

The wheels are just plain wicked. The gun metal five-spoke units manage to look highly detailed, but not busy, which is no easy feat. All too often at the big show in Sin City, the rubber is wrapped around garish rims that look like food processor blades, and that’s not the case here. I also dug how the carbon fiber inserts made the vents behind the doors pop.

The most bombastic bits are out back. The upgraded carbon spoiler features Batman-style flared tips, and it gives otherwise restrained modifications a sinister edge. Personally, I like how well executed the TechArt script under the rear taillight is. If you didn’t look too close, you might think it’s factory.

Around the massive dual exhaust pipes, there’s a another carbon fiber splitter, which finishes off the build nicely. At this point, there’s no word how much — if any — extra power is on tap. But we know the wizards at TechArt are great at finding any extra ponies Porsche left on the table. That said, what do you think about this tricked out 992? Hit me up and let me know!
