This is probably one of the more bizarre stories we’ve posted, but with a tag-line like this and an extremely strange string of events surrounding the incident, it had to be posted.

Also, because Lambo.

The 2012 incident, went like this: 19-year old Max Wade was arrested and charged for the theft of Guy Fieri’s 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo and planning its sale to a Dominican Republic-based car dealership for a cool $201,500. In addition, the supposedly “sophisticated young man” was also charged with planning a San Francisco jewelry store heist and an attempted murder with an unrelated 2012 drive-by shooting, targeting the male companion of a love interest of Wade’s.

Wow. What? It’s like the suspect was living out a bad Michael Bay film x the entire Fast and Furious franchise x _____ romantic-revenge comedy starring Matthew Mcconaughey.

No direct mention of Fieri’s thoughts on all this, as the car was stolen directly from a dealership.

Kind of a surprise as I’d always taken Fieri as more of a classic American muscle car guy but there’s definitely something comical about the prospect of him driving from diners to drive-in and dives in a blazing yellow Gallardo.

Note: Fieri actually owns the following: 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible, 2011 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 2009 Smith’s Custom Golf Cart, 2007 Chevrolet Corvette, 2006 Chevrolet C4500 Kodiak Pick-up, 1976 Jeep CJ5, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454, 1967 Chevrolet C10 Full Custom “in process,” 1965 Carroll Shelby continuation 427 Cobra.

Wade’s life sentence came about from being charged as an adult, despite the fact that he was a minor when the crimes were committed.
