The Veyron Successor Will Be Fast as Hell

Not to be outdone by a mere Texan, Bugatti and VAG decided to tell the world that the Veyron successor, something the company kept insisting wasn’t going to be just a faster version of the Veyron, will now be unbelievably faster than the Veyron, hitting a potential 286 mph.

Now, it’s worth saying, that isn’t as fast as the Venom GT F5 is supposed to go, but figure Bugatti will make all sorts of one off faster versions and you have either a recipe for success, or a recipe for lots of rich people dying at very high rates of speed.

The next Bugatti will likely be powered, like most modern hypercars, by a hybrid electric powertrain strapped to the back of a retuned version of the Veyron’s 8.0L quad turbo V16 and could likely produce around 1500 hp, which will allow the heavy beast to sprint to 60 in around 2.5s.

Most of the details are still pretty scant, just because Bugatti themselves don’t have them all yet. They are still developing the platform and changing things constantly.

Bugatti Veyron 6

The car is set to debut in 2016 and then go on sale a year after. One problem, besides that it’s going to cost the wealth of a small island, Bugatti has said that they will keep production numbers limited to 450. Why is this a problem? Because the auto manufacturer is having a hell of a time selling the last Veyrons and those were limited to the same number.
