Want to Trade your Ferrari F40 or F50 for a Private Island?

Here’s an interesting deal: someone who owns a private island in the area of Port Orange, Florida, wants to trade his 3 acre private island for a Ferrari F40 or F50. There’re no buildings on it and apparently it’s a common stop for hurricanes on Spring Break. Let’s break this offer down, shall we?

Since there’s no beautiful beach house to talk about, lets talk about Port Orange itself. What is it up to these days? What kind of people live there? How often does God display his hatred of my internet browser history with high winds and tropical floods? I had questions, City-data.com had answers.
According to City-data.com, Port Orange’s median household income and median home/condo value are below Florida’s state average. If there’s anything you don’t want to be behind, it’s Florida. It’s like the kid who set off fireworks in his underwear getting a better math score than you. However, Port Orange is dead even with Florida’s state average of sex offenders (78 in a population of about 53,000). Way to go.
A private island is a good way to keep your kids out of reach, but a it’s probably the worst place to hunker down in a hurricane, and Port Orange had a bunch of them. If Port Orange were a co-worker, you would think the world was trying to make it quit. The number of natural disasters is almost double the U.S. average (20 to 12, respectively). It has had 15 natural disasters that were good enough to warrant a phone call from the at-the-time POTUS. There’s been hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, and even a freeze. And where better to observe a natural disaster than on a hard-to-reach piece of land in the middle of turbulent water? I’m sure you’ll be the priority of emergency crews.
All that tropical awesome can be yours for the lowly price of you Ferrari F40 or F50. Both of these are worth millions. I’ll bet the F40 will double in value before we all turn to dust. Hmmmm. Give up an asset that appreciates like a new oil well in exchange for an island of nothing “untapped possibilities” that is between mother nature and her morning coffee? What a deal.
