Watch the Best First Drive of a New Porsche GT3

By -

Vlogger gets new 911 GT3 and goes on drive with 15 classic and modern Porches.

If you’re prone to being the jealous type, consider yourself warned: this is quite possibly the best first drive of a new car ever. Seriously. Mr. JWW, aka James, took his audience with him to the showroom when he bought the GT3, but his first drive is in the highlands of Scotland. As part of Porsche 70th Anniversary celebration they took 15 of the most iconic street cars on a tour around the Scottish Highlands, the northern part of the United Kingdom where James lives.

The car James bought is a Porsche 911 GT3 in Miami Blue. We’re big fans of the most extroverted color options. If you’re going to get a Porsche, might as well stand out! Blue, green, or orange though? The jury’s still out on that one.

James wrings out the GT3 after taking it easy for a few miles. He narrates, saying, “I forgot how insane that feels! I don’t remember my last car feeling nearly as torquey as this!” 9,000 rpm from the 4.0-liter flat-six in the GT3 is a great experience.

Next, he makes a few initial observations comparing the previous generation GT3. He says, “After doing 20,000 miles in the last GT3, I think I’m in a really good position to tell you how things have moved on: just from a few squirts of the right pedal: things have really moved on!”

After a full morning of driving his own GT3, he then scores the keys to the new GT3 RS and drives them back-to-back. Yeah, the sweater he’s wearing that says “100 Smiles Per Gallon” sounds about right. Jealous yet? He then hops into the GT3 RS with the Weissach package.
