YouTuber ‘ChrisFix’ Shocks His Dad with a Dream Car Maserati
YouTuber ChrisFix saw his father’s Jaguar X-Type was a money pit. So he bought Dad his dream car, a Maserati Quattroporte.
In almost every car’s life, there comes a time when, past a certain line, it becomes a money pit. That’s what happened with ChrisFix and his father’s Jaguar X-Type. Many of you may know ChrisFix from his how-to and DIY videos on YouTube, but even he has to admit there’s too many problems on this Jag that crept up at once. So it is now being relegated to project car status. “I really need to find something reliable that my dad can daily drive, and I’m getting sick of working on this car,” ChrisFix says.
So what does ChrisFix pick as a replacement? A Maserati Quattroporte. You may be asking; “but he wanted a reliable daily, right?” And yes that’s the case. ChrisFix explains, “I was able to negotiate the price of this Quattroporte down to $26,000. With 45,000 miles, this car is in amazing condition.”

OK, credit where it is due, the price and the mileage are starting to make sense. But the factory white paint on this car wasn’t going to cut it for ChrisFix. He needed a truly special one-of-one color for his dad. So off it went to be wrapped in metallic blue.
“But it’s still going to cost huge bucks when something does go wrong,” you may still be saying. Not so. In this video, we are shown that spinning your own wrenches and getting your hands a little dirty can save you some big bucks versus going to the dealer.
ChrisFix gives an example, “If you get this done through Maserati, they charge $550.00 to do an oil change. I can’t really give you an answer why it is that much. This is going to be exactly the same as changing oil in anything else.” Perhaps there’s a thrill for the well off to empty their pockets on a new car. Who knows. But for enthusiasts, a Maserati just takes some extra dedication and knowing when a car like a Maserati is right for you.

The best part? Seeing the father’s reaction when the car is brought in the driveway. Who’s cutting those onions?
