K24/K16 Hybrid turbo
K24/K16 Hybrid turbo
I am looking for a K24/K16 type of turbo to replace my stock units. My end goal is to be ~580hp. My driving style is mainly canyons, so I am looking for the least amount of lag. My flash is FVD stage one. My exhaust is stock, with the muffler bypass drill-job from this board. I found these from IA and like the price, anyone familiar with this unit?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

you're going to need a different flash to cooperate with any hybrid turbo.
I'd suggest talking to kevin at http://www.ultimatemotorwerks.com/

Talk to Sam at The Speed Gallery. He set me up with K16/24's and recommended I stay with the FVD software as they had great results with it. I had FVD stage 2 software (it had to be upgraded to FVD stage 4). The car ran great and was very fast for a k16/24 - you can see the 1/4 mile video links below. Fastest 1/4 mile ET for 16/24's.......FVD + SG K16/24's = A great set-up!
I ran a guy here with SG 16/24 turbos (I've got a Upsolute flashed 16's, and dv's), and he took me by a good 5-6 car lengths from 60 to roughly 130 everytime. It's good stuff.

I just went from the Stage 3 to Stage 4 FVD with the FVD K24's, Speed Gallery wastgate upgrade, EVO intake. With the Stage 3 ECU this car absolutely rocked! With the Stage 4 it is slightly faster. I still have the Stage 3 ECU and I could swap it in about 5 minutes and give you a ride if you want to compare to your car..........I was also considering the K24/16's......but I think you'd be impressed how quick it is in this configuration.....

since you have the fvd ecu they will upgrade your programming for free, just need to buy the fvd racing k26/24 and 5 bar fpr. it will rock. anything else is over kill. simple and easy. fvd has an aggessive 1.1-1.2 program that is not offered commercially. no need to buy after market wg's it's programmed.

I'm the one who ran with CarNerd and I was VERY happy with the Speed Gallery 16/24's. There is a vid somewhere between me and a straight K24 car and I spooled quicker and kept going on the top end!!
nah, if I was into 1/4 I would be driving a completely diff vehicle.
fwiw, to be clear the fvd k26/24 racing turbos are not the same as stock k24's
ask markski about this fvd set up, he ran the quickest time in comparo to the other packages that are similar. if I remember it was in the low to mid 11's if I remember correctly.
been down the hybrid 16/24's road, the fvd 26/24 have much more torque in the mid and upper ranges. 16/24's start to run out of breath rather quickly where the 24/26's are just getting going.
