Newbie want to buy an old 911

Hi All-
I have always wanted an older Porsche and never own one before. I'm looking at a 85 Carrera. It's 1 owner, & the dealer guarantee it for 3 months.
Is this a good reliable car?
I heard repair will cost your arm & leg more than a Mercedes or Audi?
Are they easy to work on?
Thank you!

Check out my mom's 911. I don't know if you would consider this car but she would be willing to give you a VERY good deal. She needs this car gone. She is entertaining offers in the 15K-18K range. A car just like hers in our area with comparible miles is selling for 29K at an auto broker. I don't know if that particular is over priced but keep in ind she is willing to accept nearly half the cost for hers at this point. This is a great car for the right person. I know the PPI will only reveal minor if any issues. Let me know whats up.

Your repair cost should be very little if the car was taken care of. Compared to my BMW OR MY MB much less to upkeep more more to Mod,

I wouldn't be including the pricing link when you are asking 15k to 18k since the link has other people's estimates at less than 10k. Just a thought.

Yes, a 1985 Carrera was a very reliable car. Many have 200K-300K miles on them.

Nonetheless, you will find certain problems that need to be addressed before spending your hard earned money.

Tell us about the car. How many miles? Is it a ROW? Do you have a file of receipts?

Maintenance costs are reasonable. They are very reliable if maintained properly.

Be sure to get any older 911 inspected by an independent mechanic that has experience with the cars. It will give you negotiating power and ward off a $10,000 surprise.
