Powder Coating

Just joined the site and really like the feedback and information provided by all you you. I look forward to learning more about my car as well has options available by all of you. Just bought a 2004 911 C4S just in time to store in the garage for the winter.

I'm having some work done on it now and the garage is suggesting I powder coat the OEM rims to a black. They are just your standard #50 rims. I'm wondering if this would be a good idea and what to look at as far as matte, semi-gloss, or gloss.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Make sure to be careful when you have the rims done that they are not overheated. Check other posts on powder coating. Other members have posted problems with powder coating.

Post pictures when you are done

Powder Coating

Welcome to the forum. I'm still a rookie. I just think your color/texture question is totally a personal choice thing. I had a friend with a 04 GT3 silver that was in the same boat as you and he asked me what I thought, black or stock wheels? I said stock. He did what he thought best and put black wheels on, and it really looks great. I will still say for originality sake stay true, but to be yourself, do what you think best.
Yea, and post some pics!
Thanks
I.

everytime I see wheels that aren't glossed they look like brake dust is all over them. just my 2 cents, still a great car!

Powdercoating wheels

I had mine done almost one year ago and am very happy with the result. Besides looking good, they sem to be very durable and less prone to staining than the painted wheels I had on prior.
