any thoughts on using a squeqee to remove water on the car after washing prior to towel drying ?

 

I use one ALL the time. Just make sure to keep it in a plastic bag or something to prevent degradation to the edge or dirt from accumulating. It saves me a boatload of drying time.

Caution: it's an extremely effective scratching tool if you don't keep the edge clean. Just be careful and you'll be OK.

 

If you have a dark color exterior and really care for your paint finish then it is a NO in my opinion. All you need is one grain of dirt remaining after a wash waiting to be dragged over the paint.

 

If you really care for the finish on your car, throw the squeegee away!!! Use really soft towels, two will do the job on a 911. I don't even use a skin or anything else that can trap dirt, grit or grime. I have 230K on my original paint and it still looks like new....shines like the sun........Pipes

 

I have to say I have used on of these cautiously for 8+ years without a problem. Each time I pull it out I question if it is a good idea or not, but, no problems yet. As mentioned: only use on a clean car, and I wipe the edge off periodically as I dry the car just in case.

 

I use one from time to time. I clean the edges before use with soap and water, and when drying I keep a soaked microfiber in the other hand and swipe it clean after each drag.

No problems, but my car is silver.
