MAW3541 is infamous around these parts
Porsche 911 newbie

New to the Forum and new to Porsche. I purchased a 2003 911 Carrera 4 in March 2010. The car had 17,800 miles on it. 2500 miles later I got to checking my oil. My dealer never said to keep an eye on it. Long story short I was down 2.5 quarts. Topped oil off with 0W40 Mobil One. I never got a low oil light coming on. As best I can tell the rule of thumb for my Porsche is about 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles. My concern is whether I caused any damage by letting the oil level drop too low. The car seems to be running fine but I have some concerns. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks,

Welcome t the forum and congrats on your car.
I wouldn't loose sleep over your oil level being low, but do be sure to check it on a regular basis in the fututre.
