Opinions on price! 05 997s

05 997S, 62K miles, manual, options are bose and sport seats...pretty barebones otherwise...had all maintenance including 60k, new tires etc...one tiny ding on car otherwise great condition...all maintenance records...thinking of doing PPI before purchase

bottom price ~$37K

Does that sound like reasonable deal?

Private sale ? How many owners? Was it near Katrina ? Pictures and original sticker w/ option list ?

With the data you've shown the $$ seems OK even a little low.

seems about right if the PPI checks out. Even a base, is a great car...

Still undecided...a bit scared of higher mileage even though all maintenance / service records are shown and have been done. I will use this as daily driver and plan on keeping it for around 2 years. Have two worries

1.) Resale value with 90K+ miles (is it nearly impossible to sell a porsche with that high of mileage)??

2.) IMS failure (seems like 05 is most common...and even though most IMS failure threads I found have been at lower mileages so one of those should of happened by now, still could be a worry for next 2 years, etc.) Seems like a less incident chance at 06+ so might have to start excluding 05 in my search...commonly agreed that cars that have been driven more as with this example are almost never IMS troubled...

Thoughts on both?

Nope, there are a lot of cars for sale with high miles. You just don't hear about it cause people don't like to sale these cars. You will probably add 30 to 40k on it and turn around and sell it for 32k. They hold their value very well with proper maintenance. Use the IMS issue to get the price even lower, say it will break down since it has not yet. Maybe that would help you make up your mind. Other then that I think its a great price.

But I do have to say these cars have one major flaw. From the moment you turn the engine on till the moment you turn it off. All the car wants to do is go baby go. They are addicting to drive and addicting to own.
