In the market for a 3.2. I've been looking for a G50 but came across this one from Mohr Imports that looks pretty nice. It's an '86 so it has the 915 trans. Never driven a car with the 915 and it seems that there's a very slit opinion on it vs the G50. Any help/direction you can give me would be much appreciated.

Also, anything to look for on this specific car? The AC is running but not blowing cold. i know there's a conversion kit out there that most recommend. What is is and what's it cost? What else do you guys see with this particular car that i should be aware of? Any help would be great apprecited!
Best,
Jason

redrocket265 is infamous around these parts
A/C may have a refrigerant leak and/or just be low on refrigerant. There isn't really a specific 'kit' that you need to convert to R134; you just need to flush the system, put in the proper conversion oil, change out the o-rings (realistically, this is an optional step), and put in the updated refrigerant. Hang a set of gauges on it and see what the pressures are, that's the only for-sure 'easy' way to tell what's going on.

Those years don't have a whole terrible lot of major problems, I've seen several ignition switch plastic housings break and crumble and cause a no-start condition. That ad reads like a decent enough car, hard to say without more photos and/or seeing it in person though.

Some good reading material for you to look into may be this book:
Porsche 911 Buyer's Guide: 2nd Edition: Randy Leffingwell: 9780760334843: Amazon.com: Books Porsche 911 Buyer's Guide: 2nd Edition: Randy Leffingwell: 9780760334843: Amazon.com: Books

I've got this and read through it several times over, although I already know the majority of the stuff in there - tons and tons of good information in there, and could very likely answer all of your questions and show you a few new things you didn't know!

+1 for Randy's book. I have a copy and although I still have not bought one yet, I know a LOT more about 911's than I did before.
