My salesman told me yesterday that you basically cannot order a 911. He says you'd have to be extremely lucky to be able to do that. And he also said that if you do luck out you will have to perhaps wait for about six months.

Thoughts?

you can, though you will have to wait, you also have the option of taking european delivery, where you get to pick it up at the factory and drive it around Germany (then they ship it to the US)

 

Never heard of not being able to order a car.

 

That is crap. I ordered a 991.2 in April and took delivery in July.

 

Patently ridiculous information from your dealer unless for some reason THAT particular dealer is not getting any allocations from PCNA. Just took delivery of my 2017 991.2 Turbo...ordered it in late November and took delivery in February.

 

Sounds like the sales person wants to sell you whatever is on the floor. I wouldn't get near him again.. and if you buy from the same dealership consider mentioning this to the general manager. Some of them still care.
