Modernizing an '89 Targa...
racerbvd......that poor car...
I could see the kid changing the exhaust. My muffler is not stock, and I am buying a set of SSI headers with dual in dual out muffler as my next upgrade. other than that mine is bone stock.....as you cant improve much on perfection.

Well, you started off stating this.
That is more than changing the sound.
And then followed up with this.
With the 89 being the last year of the 911 body style that, there is a reason your father has taken such good care of it. If you want an updated look, buy a newer car, there is a reason your father's car is worth more that many 964s and early 996s. If you want to change the body, do it to an old beater
like this
A cooler looking body kit
And then followed up with this.
I believe my ideas and thoughts are for the better of the car. Why? Because I want a semi unique 911. Okay, so now you can argue "Its a classic car it's already unique blah blah". I got it. But man, I can't want to spice it up a bit? Hm, I don't recall comparing my dad's car to new cars. I do however remember saying something like "at least close to new 911's". Okay, so I worded that statement in a way to make readers think I want to make an 80's car up to the level of a modern car. My bad. I should have stated that I just wanted to upgrade a bit and style a bit, instead of "modernizing.

Good SCs are priced pretty reasonable. You would love the sound of my Cab, that engine has been tweaked, SSIs, B&B and sounds great, of course it wasn't a concours car, but it is a fun car
