New "911" Picture Thread.
That's awesome!! I'll have to watch it after work so I can hear it though. Thank you for posting.
racerbvd - Is that a new pick up? I think it would make a great track car.

Kamil, thanks for this great picture of your 911sc. Looks just like my old '79. Loved that car. Sold it at 325k miles. Shared this picture with my daughter and she loved seeing it too. My kids actually rode in the back seats (with seatbelts added) - once. My wife actually drove it - once. I drove it just about every day, daily driver, work car, roadtrips, rain or shine, and even drove it in the snow - once. Mod intake and exhaust, wife could hear me coming home 1/2 mile away. And bless her heart, she surprised me with a sound system that I could actually hear, when I bothered to turn it on. Picture brings back lots of good memories, thanks again.

Have you been looking for a while?
Air cooled market
Yes, anyone looking for a 3.2 car especially a coupe knows how difficult it is to find a good well documented car. I have been looking for months. PCA or Excellence should do a piece on the state of the market. The car I bought, the seller said he had over 600 hits in one day. For guys on these forums, the biggest competition is the brokers/dealers. A broker who beat me by 20 minutes on a 89 anniversary coupe said by the time you see the listing the car is sold. They have people searching 24/7 all of the internet sites for cars. The 89 anniversary coupe was listed on craigslist as a one owner car, 37,000 miles and in perfect condition for $29,000. The broker got to the seller first, bought the car for $27,500, I offered $35,000, but by then the seller signed a sales agreement. No individual will have a seller sign a sales agreement, that usually is a clear sign there is a broker involved and the car will likely end up in Europe. The Broker immediately flipped the car to a dealer for $40,000. The broker never saw the car, shipped directly to the dealer. I am all for free enterprise, but you have to be very lucky to find a good car and be first on the list. And if you are lucky don't mess around, offer more than the asking price or you will lose out. The chances of getting a good G-50 car are really low. I decided that I would bypass the G-50 coupes and look for a 915 car because there are less people chasing them and personally I don't mind the 915 transmission. Most mechanics seem to prefer the 915 because it's lighter and easier to work on. Sorry for the long winded post, thought I share my experience with anyone looking.
Hey sjgreco,
Nice find. Do you mind me asking where all you were looking? I am getting in the market for a similar car.

I check the usually sites, Pelican, Auto Trader, Cars.com. There are a few other sites that seem to list the older classic cars such as Hemmings, Classic cars.com. the PCA member web site, Excellence magazine site. You can also attend events like coffee and cars. Last week when I found my car, on the same day there was a 87 one owner silver coupe listed on cars.com. A broker tied up the car first, but I got through to the owner and offered $41,000 versus the $38,000 listing price. This was a great car with under 25,000 original miles and a great color. He agreed to sell me the car, for $41,000 but the car I bought was my first choice so I decided to not buy the 87. It sold the next day. The cars are out there you just have to be at the right place when one pops up. According to Excellence magazine there were 170,000 911's produced between 1974 and 1989. Good luck.
Congrats on the find hoping to see more pics once it arrives. Car looks extremely clean.

Thank you.
