My 87 930 has a modified exhaust. From what I can determine the stock muffler was replaced with an after market (Billy Boat) muffler. Needless to say there is no longer a catalytic converter in the system and the car fails an emission test. I have a 930 shop manual and there is no reference in any of the diagrams to the cat. I assume it should be located just prior to the Turbo. Anyone have details on the cat?

 

The cat actually sits on top of the muffler in a 87 930. How do I know.? They tried to fail me for not having a cat I had to crawl on the floor in a suit to show them that the cat is just before the muffler. It has nothing to do with the turbo

 

That makes a lot more sense then being located before the Turbo. Thanks
